Terra Samba Brazil - Bahia

 Samba-Pagode

Summer  08

Setting the masses on fire with their chord sequences, Terra Samba leaves it clear that it takes a lot of consistence in its work when it comes to leading a parade or fronting an audience. Terra Samba have realised solid work as far as the spreading of the musicality of Bahia is concerned, trying to combine the roots of samba with new tendencies. Its versatility and own style make the group stand out, conquering audiences in the many countries visited. The great success the Terra Samba group obtained at the many shows and festivals, where it sent many an audience into ecstasy through its contagious rhythms and the sheer beauty of its capoeira performances, is the recognition of its hard work in Bahia, Brazil and the whole world.

Yamandú Costa Brazil

7 strings guitar

solo, duo or trio project

May-July  08

It's not an exaggeration to call Yamandú Costa a prodigy on the guitar. Born in Rio Grande do Sul in 1980, Yamandú plays the "violão de 7 cordas" since he was seven and started to improvise even before his tenth birthday. Because he had to, he studied music theory, but his heart is with playing, improvising and paying tribute to Latin American music, with an emphasis on Brazilian music culture. Astor Piazzolla is one of his influences, as well as Armandinho, Jobim, Radamés Gnatalli and Reinhard Django. Today, Yamandú is one of the few composers of contemporary "gaucho" instrumental music.
